Happy New Year

To answer your question on my blog: if you're a nervous person, then you may never get over your nerves. The trick is to use the nervous energy and channel it into your work. Nervousness is only a bad thing when it prevents you from doing what it is you know you can do or the nerves weaken your performance. In my experience, the more you do something, the less nervous you are about doing that very thing again. You're always gonna be fearful about doing 'it' wrong; perfoming badly in front of a bunch of strangers; making an ass of yourself; and having them think less of you. And let's talk about being intimidated by people you perceive to be way more talented than yourself. Those are tricks your mind will play on you. It's human nature. However, you can't focus on that. Thinking negatively will sabotage what you're trying to do. You have to take the plunge; put yourself out there; fall down; get dirty. It's the only way you grow and improve.
