Cooking

I've never been one to cook. My mother always only wanted me to focus on schoolwork so I was never forced to stay in the kitchen. Fortunately, hubby is an awesome cook always willing to experiment and his food much more often than not comes out very good. I, on the other hand, don't like to experiment cause the food never comes out the way I envision. And heaven forbid anyone try to give me any tips while I'm in the kitchen. That just adds to my stress and the food comes out even worse. Because of this I've never been inclined to try, but lately my co-worker has had my mouth watering. She very recently started cooking and every day we talk about what she made the night before. She's so excited because she's actually liking what she's making and the foods she chooses rarely take more than an hour to prepare and cook. If she can do it maybe I should try. It couldn't hurt. Not really.

give it a try!

i'm a natural cook although i do NOT cook regularly. maybe once every two weeks. i'm with you...if i can't make it quickly, i ain't making it.

whenever i'm in my momma's kitchen cooking, i feel like a bumbling fool. she intimidates the hell out of me with her perfect dishes.

there are some great cookbooks out there with quick and easy dishes.

i need to be cooking too! too much cereal and toast happening for me! but i think part of the reason i don't cook, is cooking for 1 isn't all that motivating. And i want to cook only if it's fast and easy (cause i'm not great at it), because when i used to get home late - i had no energy to even think of cooking.

Oh I'm so excited to hear this! I can't wait for you to cook. Everyone has to start off slow, but the more you do it, the better you'll be. If you want some easy recipes, give me a call!

I'm not a natural cook like Nikki, but I do love to experiment with different recipes. I impress the heck out of myself sometimes. Recently, I've tried a seafood casserole, gumbo and some other things. Problem is, the kids don't sit still long enough to eat anything and I hate cooking for just myself.

I didn't know you had a kitchen phobia. ;-)

It can't hurt to give it go. Maybe SP came by and walk you through step by step.

I say give it a try. Hubby will like! I think that even hubbies that cook, appreciate when the wives cook, too.

I can cook, but I don't really like cooking most times. I enjoy experimenting especially when it turns out wonderful!

I like to cook because you get to make the food exactly how you like it. My mom taught me how to cook, but now I make it the way I like it, which is better. Lol. Good luck, start slow and always cook on a low heat to start. You can't unburn food, but you can always cook it a bit more.
