Back in the Cube Farm

Yup, I went in to the office. Shelb spent the day with strange women. When I left her this morning she was sleeping so that made it easier for me to go not having to look her in the eyes and tell her 'bye'. But when I went to pick her up (almost nine hours later) and I asked how she was I was told she was a bit cranky in the morning. Poor thing woke up and probably didn't know where she was or who the people around her were. Sid said he went in to see her when my mother stopped by but that was so late in the day. Shelb went most of the day without a familiar face. :( As for me, every chance I got I was looking at pictures of her on her blog. Maybe tomorrow will be better for both of us.

Awwww. Must be so tough to be back at work already. Another reason to be glad to live in Canada. You will make it work though.

This has me thinking that the U.S. should give mothers at least a year off after having a baby.

I hate that the cost of living here in Florida is starting to mirror that of California. I was where you are just recently and it made it no easier that: my youngest was a bit older (two months shy of turning four), she got cheated out of a year-and-a-half of mommy time, where as her siblings got all their before starting school time at home with mom sans daycare. I hated hearing the "this too shall pass" crap. It still hasn't. I think my child being old enough to know the difference of the nurturing she received from mommy vs. that of La Petite. You are fortunate that Shelb is still a bit young; unfortunate that her care has to be left in the hands of "strange woman." But, the plus to it all is that she is so flipping adorable that she will garner lots and lots of attention. Her cries may stem from her wanting them 'to leave me the heck alone and stop sweatin' me!' Who knows? Babies are quite keen IMHO.

Enjoy both worlds as you have them. Shelb will grow up to be just as happy as Syd has/is.

Gosh, that first day back to work was always a problem for me. The kids did fine but I cried for most of the day.

Awww! Is it getting any better? I don't know why you didn't just call me. I don't have a job. I could watch her!

I can relate -- it is very hard to leave those sweet cheeks and go to work. This is a very precious time for you -- being able to bring little beings in the world and love and care for them. God Bless ya!

Hi. First time here. Going to back to work, reminds you of babies fighting sleep. We're afraid to leave, fearing we're going to miss something.

I use to burn so much gas going back and forth during lunch... just to nuzzle my nose between her cheek and neck, and smell her hair.

I don't miss it... but I miss it.

re Adventist
eek!
I am afraid my blog might misrepresent Adventists so I tend not to mention it much. Not that I think Adventists are judging me but one has to be so careful of the image ppl get. yikes.

Hard, I know. My son started dc at the age of 9 weeks. Sad, I know. But he's adjusted well and we had no problems. Just checking in, haven't been in awhile.
